How to Easily Track Poker Buy-Ins and Cash-Outs
A step-by-step guide to recording every buy-in and cash-out during a home poker game using Chipup — so balances are always accurate and no one disputes the numbers at the end of the night.
- 1
Create or open your poker group
Open Chipup and navigate to your existing group, or create a new one. Give it a name (e.g. "Friday Night Game") and invite your players. Each group is private — only invited members can view or edit data.
- 2
Start a new game session
Tap "New Game" inside your group. Set the date and any notes for the session. This creates a fresh record linked to your group's history.
- 3
Record each player's buy-in
As players sit down, tap their name and enter the buy-in amount. Chipup stores this immediately. If a player re-buys later, tap their name again and add the additional amount — every transaction is logged separately.
- 4
Add cash-outs at the end of the session
When the game ends, enter each player's final chip count as their cash-out. Chipup compares each player's total buy-ins to their cash-out to calculate their net result.
- 5
Review automatic balance calculations
Once all cash-outs are recorded, Chipup shows you a clear summary: who won, who lost, and exactly who owes whom. No mental arithmetic or spreadsheets required.
- 6
Share payment suggestions
Use Chipup's payment suggestions to simplify settlement. The app minimises the number of transactions needed so players can settle debts quickly and fairly.
With Chipup, buy-in and cash-out tracking takes seconds per player, and the app handles all the maths automatically. Your home poker game management is cleaner, faster, and dispute-free.
