Poker Chip Tracker App: Track Chips, Buy-Ins and Cash-Outs at Home

Looking for a poker chip tracker app for your home game? Here's what a chip tracker should do, how to use one during a live game, and how Chipup turns everyone's chip stacks into a clear who-owes-who at the end of the night.

  1. 1

Know what a poker chip tracker app actually tracks

A chip tracker doesn't count physical chips for you. It records the money behind them: how much each player bought in for, every re-buy, and the chip count each player ends with. From those numbers it works out who is up, who is down, and who pays whom.

  2. 2

Set your chip values before anyone sits down

Decide what the chips are worth in money, for example 1 chip = $0.25, and agree on it with the table. Set the same chip-to-money ratio in your Chipup group, so chip counts convert to money automatically and nobody argues about the math later.

  3. 3

Create a group and start a game in Chipup

Create a private group for your regulars and share the invite link, or add players by name. Tap "New Game" when the first chips go out. Everyone in the group can follow the game live on their own phone.

  4. 4

Log every buy-in and re-buy as chips go out

Each time a player buys chips, tap + next to their name. Re-buys and add-ons are logged the same way, so the pot total in the app always matches the chips on the table. If the numbers ever disagree, you find out mid-game instead of at 2 a.m.

  5. 5

Count final stacks and enter cash-outs

When a player leaves or the game ends, count their chips and enter the count as their cash-out. Chipup warns you when the chips don't match the pot, which usually means a miscounted stack.

  6. 6

Settle up with the fewest payments

Tap "End Game" and Chipup shows each player's result and the shortest list of payments to settle everyone. Games that haven't been paid stay on the group's unsettled list, so nobody has to remember who still owes money from last week.

A poker chip tracker app replaces the notebook and the end-of-night arguments with one shared record. Log buy-ins as chips go out, log final stacks as they come back, and let the app turn chip counts into payments. Chipup is free on iOS and Android, so your next game can start with it.
